SAP NETWEAVER MASTER DATA MANAGEMENT

SAP NetWeaver Master Data Management (SAP NetWeaver MDM) is an enabling foundation for enterprise services and business process management – providing a single version of the truth for customer, product, employee, supplier, or user-defined data objects.

Working across heterogeneous systems at disparate locations, SAP NetWeaver Master Data Management ensures cross-system data consistency through interactive distribution. It integrates business processes across the extended value chain, delivering features and functions to enable:

  • Master data consolidation – Consolidate master data for companywide analysis and reporting. SAP NetWeaver Master Data Management consolidates and cleanses master data objects from disparate systems. After consolidation, it stores information from different systems in a centralized repository. Related rich content can be included to augment the data store.
  • Synchronization and distribution of master data – Enable consistent data maintenance and distribution to ensure permanent harmonization of master data. Using global attributes, you can ensure that all systems receive the same master data during distribution – and enrich the distributed data objects with additional attribute values in the target systems. Distribution can be controlled, visible, and traceable, with active status management at each distribution step.
  • Centralized management of master data – Supports companywide quality standards by ensuring that central control of master data begins as soon as the data is created. Centrally created master data can subsequently be distributed to client systems as required using interactive distribution.
  • Administration of master data – Manage master data without custom code. A powerful interface supports administrative tasks such as data exception handling and assignment of role-based access to business processes and information. Data managers use the interface to configure data source merging, business rules, and distribution details to downstream applications.
  • Management of internal content – Collect and centralize all your content – including parametric information and rich content such as images, paragraphs of text, PDF documents, and organizational intelligence about content – in an enterprisewide repository.
  • Catalog search – Deploy intuitive interfaces that help you locate items internally, publish Web catalogs on e-commerce storefronts and in supplier enablement programs, and integrate easy-to-search catalogs into e-procurement solutions – all from a centralized repository, and all at speeds surpassing normal SQL-based queries.
  • Print catalog customization – Disseminate product information directly from a centralized catalog repository to popular desktop publishing programs, and automatically generate fully formatted and populated page layouts.
  • Multichannel syndication of product catalog content – Publish restructured and reformatted extracts or incremental updates of your product catalog content – and distribute them to trading partners in several delimited text and XML formats – on an unscheduled or regular basis.
  • Business process support – Enable communication in a heterogeneous environment, and insert master data into other systems.
  • Business analytics and reporting – Leverage synchronized data for reliable analysis and accurate reporting.

SAP NetWeaver Process Integration

SAP NetWeaver Process Integration (SAP PI) is SAP's enterprise application integration (EAI) software, a component of the NetWeaver product group used to facilitate the exchange of information among a company's internal software and systems and those of external parties. Before the current version, SAP PI was called SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI). Like other NetWeaver components, SAP PI is compatible with software products of other companies.

SAP calls PI an integration broker because it mediates between entities with varying requirements in terms of connectivity, format, and protocols. According to SAP, PI reduces the TCO by providing a common repository for interfaces. The central component of SAP PI is the SAP Integration Server, which facilitates interaction between diverse operating systems and applications across internal and external networked computer systems.

PI is built upon the SAP Web Application Server.

First release of SAP Exchange Infrastructure was XI 2.0. Later on, releases 3.0, 7.0 and 7.1 followed. From release 7.0 onwards, SAP Exchange Infrastructure has been renamed as SAP Process Integration (SAP PI).

Hyderabad, March 27:- Junior NTR, popular Telugu film actor and star campaigner of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), has suffered multiple injuries after a road accident in Andhra Pradesh, police said Friday. The accident took place late Thursday when the Tata Safari vehicle in which he was travelling turned turtle and hit a tree in Nalgonda district, 170 km east of here. Junior NTR, grandson of legendary actor and TDP founder N.T. Rama Rao, was returning to Hyderabad from Khammam district after campaigning when the accident occurred. He was driving the vehicle. He suffered injuries on head, temple, shoulder and elbow and has been shifted to the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) in Secunderabad here. Doctors said he was out of danger but needed complete rest for four to six weeks. Two people accompanying him were also injured. They have been identified as actor Rajiv Kanakala, who was sitting beside Junior NTR, and junior artist Srinivas Reddy, who was on the rear seat. The actor's supporters and TDP leaders in other vehicles in his convoy first shifted them to a hospital in Suryapet town for first aid. They were later brought to KIMS in the state capital. According to the police, the accident occurred at a sharp turn at Mothe village near Suryapet town. "Apparently, he could not see the turn and suddenly applied the brakes leading to the accident," Nalgonda District Superintendent of Police B. Srinivas told reporters. Junior NTR, who hit the campaign trail two weeks ago, was returning to Hyderabad to celebrate Ugadi (Telugu New Year day) with his family and also to hold talks with TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu for a party ticket to one of his followers. According to informed sources, Junior NTR was unhappy with Naidu for denying an assembly ticket to his follower and the TDP chief had called him for talks. Junior NTR's relatives other senior TDP leaders have rushed to the hospital. His father is actor N. Harikrishna. Actor N. Balakrishna, who is also campaigning for the TDP and rushed to the hospital, said: "The blessings of his fans have saved his life". NTR's elder son-in-law Daggubati Venkateshwara Rao, who is a legislator of the ruling Congress party, also rushed to the hospital. The accident dealt a blow to TDP's campaign as Junior NTR was attracting huge crowds since he launched his campaign in Srikakulam district in north coastal Andhra. His resemblance to his legendary grandfather and the theatrical punch in his speeches proved a big hit with people. He covered six districtS during the last 14 days, reminding people of the popularity of his grandfather, who had created a record by coming to power within nine months of launching the TDP in 1982. Junior NTR was originally scheduled to cover the entire state in 40 days.

    Syrup producers: look
    out for beetles

Last Edited: Friday, 27 Mar 2009, 9:40 AM EDT
Created On: Friday, 27 Mar 2009, 9:39 AM EDT

DURHAM, N.H. - The U.S. Forest Service is asking Northeast maple syrup producers to report signs of the Asian Longhorned Beetle, which bore dime-sized holes in hardwood trees, eventually killing them.

The Forest Service says maple trees are considered highly attractive hosts for the insect.

While the inch-long black and white beetle will not emerge for another three to four months, their egg sites and exit holes might be spotted higher up in the tree or on the trunk.

The Forest Service says syrup producers should pay attention to trees damaged in the December ice storm. Fallen branches could show signs of the beetle.

A major infestation was discovered in Worcester, Mass., in August. Since then, more than 18,000 infested trees and host trees have been cut down in an attempt to eradicate the beetle.

Drums On Fire is the result of a collaboration between UK keyboardist and musical conceptualist James Asher and Indian master drummer Sivamani. There is a tribal quality to this music that simplifies the virtuosic inclinations of most classical Indian styles. This music is also spiritually based, but does not adhere to the rules of the raga or to other classical forms.

    Trivia :
Prem Joshua is Born in Germany to a musical family, Joshua began learning the flute at the age of five, becoming a fine flautist while still a child. As a teenager he was soon performing in various Rock, Jazz and Fusion bands as a flute and saxophone player, always searching for new ways of expressing and expanding his music. However, a musical “discontent”, combined with his search for the spiritual, pulled him, perhaps inevitably, towards India - her culture and her music.
